Cancellation and Refunds
Last updated: 12 September 2026
This policy applies to subscriptions to OneSpend bought on this website from Harsh Gupta. It is written to be read, not to be survived: if you think you are owed a refund and this page does not cover your situation, write to us and we will deal with it on its merits.
1. The free trial
Every new account begins with 45 days of the Plus plan at no cost. We do not collect a card, a UPI mandate or any other payment instrument to start the trial, so nothing is charged when it ends. If you do nothing, the account becomes a free account and stays usable. There is nothing to cancel and nothing to refund.
2. Cancelling a subscription
You can cancel at any time, without contacting us and without giving a reason, from Settings → Subscription in the app or on the web. You can also cancel by emailing support@onespend.in from the address on your account.
- Cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not end your access immediately — you keep the plan you paid for until the end of the period you paid for.
- Any UPI AutoPay mandate or card mandate we hold is revoked at the same time, so no further debit can occur. You will receive confirmation by email.
- When the paid period ends, the account becomes a free account. Your data is not deleted; the free plan simply shows a shorter window of it, and a full export remains available.
3. Refunds: a seven-day window on a first subscription
If this is the first time you have paid for OneSpend, you may request a full refund within seven (7) days of the payment, for any reason or none. Email support@onespend.in from your account email address and ask. We do not require you to justify it, and we do not offer credit instead of money.
This sits on top of the 45-day trial, not instead of it. By the time anyone is asked to pay, they have already used the paid product for two months.
4. Refunds after seven days
After the first seven days, a subscription is generally not refundable, because the service has been supplied. We will still refund, in full or in part, in these cases:
- A charge you did not authorise, including a renewal taken after you cancelled or after a mandate should have been revoked. Refunded in full.
- A duplicate payment for the same period. The duplicate is refunded in full.
- A failure on our side that made the service unusable for a material part of the period — for example, an outage that stopped transactions being recorded, or a defect we could not fix in reasonable time. Refunded pro rata for the affected period, or in full if you would rather leave.
- An upgrade that did not apply. If you paid for Plus or Pro and the features did not become available, that is a full refund, not a support ticket.
We do not refund because a bank has changed its message format, an email was not delivered by a provider, or a transaction could not be read — but we do tell you when we could not read something rather than silently dropping it, and if that happens often enough to make the product not worth paying for, clause 4(c) above applies and you should invoke it.
5. If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play
We cannot refund those payments, and we will not pretend we can. A subscription bought inside the iOS or Android app is a purchase from Apple or Google, who collect the money and hold the billing relationship. To cancel or request a refund:
- Apple: cancel in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device; request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Google Play: cancel under Payments & subscriptions in the Play Store app; request a refund at play.google.com.
Tell us anyway. If the store refuses and we think you were right, we will credit your account here for the equivalent period at no charge — that is something we can actually do.
6. How long a refund takes
- We acknowledge a refund request within 48 hours and decide within three working days.
- Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within five to seven working days of approval. We cannot refund to a different account or method.
- Your bank or UPI provider may take a further three to five working days to show the credit. That part is outside our control, and we will give you the payment reference so you can chase it.
7. Price changes
If we raise the price of a plan you are on, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before it takes effect, and the new price only applies from your next renewal. You can cancel before then and pay nothing further. We will never increase a price silently or take a higher amount under an existing mandate without notice.
8. Closing your account
Closing your account permanently deletes your transactions, your encryption key and your bank message history. It cannot be undone, and it is not the same thing as cancelling — export your data first if you want it. Closing an account does not by itself trigger a refund; if you are within the seven-day window, ask for the refund before you close.
