Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of OneSpend ("the Service", "we", "us", or "our"), an expense tracking application. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Service Description

OneSpend is an automated expense tracking application that connects to your Gmail account (with your explicit permission) to read bank transaction notification emails, extract transaction data using AI, and present that data to you through a dashboard with analytics and categorization features.

The Service provides:

  • Automatic detection and parsing of bank notification emails from your Gmail inbox
  • AI-powered extraction of transaction details (amount, merchant, date, payment method)
  • A dashboard for viewing, categorizing, and analyzing your transactions
  • Encrypted storage of your financial transaction data

2. Account and Authentication

To use OneSpend, you must sign in using a Google account. By signing in, you authorize OneSpend to access your Gmail with read-only permissions as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the security of your Google account
  • All activity that occurs through your OneSpend account
  • Promptly notifying us if you suspect unauthorized access to your account

3. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Use the Service only for lawful personal expense tracking
  • Not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service
  • Not use the Service to process data belonging to others without their consent
  • Not attempt to access other users' data or circumvent security measures
  • Not use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service beyond its intended interface
  • Provide accurate information when creating and maintaining your account

4. Data Handling

Our handling of your data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Key points:

  • We access your Gmail with read-only permissions and only search for bank transaction emails
  • Transaction data is encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM with per-user keys
  • You can delete your data or account at any time
  • We comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements

5. AI Processing

The Service uses AI (Google Gemini) to parse your bank notification emails and extract transaction data. You acknowledge that:

  • AI extraction may not be 100% accurate. Transaction amounts, merchants, or categories may occasionally be incorrectly parsed.
  • You are responsible for reviewing and correcting any inaccuracies in your transaction data.
  • OneSpend is not a financial advisor or accounting tool. Transaction data should not be relied upon as the sole source for financial decisions, tax reporting, or legal purposes.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, features, and documentation, is owned by OneSpend. You retain ownership of your personal data. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process your email data solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

7. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Service. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:

  • Scheduled or emergency maintenance
  • Updates and improvements
  • Factors beyond our reasonable control

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time with reasonable notice.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of harmful components
  • Transaction data extracted by AI will be accurate or complete
  • The Service will meet your specific requirements or expectations

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ONESPEND AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM:

  • Your use of or inability to use the Service
  • Any inaccuracies in transaction data extracted by the Service
  • Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
  • Any third-party conduct on or related to the Service

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service if you violate these Terms. Upon termination:

  • Your right to use the Service ceases immediately
  • We will delete your account data in accordance with our Privacy Policy
  • You may revoke our Gmail access at any time through your Google Account settings

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a notice on the application prior to the changes taking effect. Your continued use of the Service after the revised Terms are posted constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles.
